Interviewing Skills (for Direct School Admission)
Hi Eden
After attending your sessions, I feel very confident when I am
interacting with other people. It has helped me a lot. The skills I have learnt
at your sessions can be put to use at most of the areas in my academics. I also
feel that I have done well due to the time, dedication and coaching you have
given me. Thank you!!!

Hi Eden
Thanks a lot and I appreciate you taking out time to train Nitika on
such a short notice. There is a lot of difference in her personality and her
confidence level. I like the strategies you used in your sessions. She
confidently attended the interview and hope to hear positive results from the
secondary school.

Ms Eden helped me in writing the personal
statement as it is my dream to go to medical school. I found her guidance and
advice very helpful, allowing me to explain things in a clearer and more
methodical way. She helps me unearth my strengths and giftings, and was
effective in probing what I do for community service. Ms Eden gently corrects
my areas of improvement and gave me good suggestions to bolster my personal
statement.

Interviewing Skills
Eden was extremely helpful in preparing me
for my scholarship interview. She shared many pointers to me and was very
experienced in providing me with concrete details about what to do during my
interview; her advice about body language was the most useful to me as it is
something that I have never heard contrary to what I always hear and read from
interview materials and friends which generally centered on the answering
techniques. Her guidance and pointers helped to prepare for almost every
question my interviewers raised.
Eden‘s guidance gave me a sense of
peace before and after my interview that was how I knew that Eden did a very
good job in preparing me.

Interviewing Skills
Hi Miss Pang,
Thank you for giving me the right set of knowledge regarding interview. I am very happy with my actual interview today. I managed to do correct many of the things you mentioned and used answers to the questions we all shared as a class. I look forward to the next lesson with you.

Interviewing Skills (Hwa Chong International Entrance
Interview)
Ms Eden has equipped me with the
right skills in tackling my interview. She was
very structured in preparing me
for different types of interview questions. Sweaty
palms, butterflies in the
stomach were gone as we rehearsed how to tackle the
questions. That
gave me the confidence which impressed the interviewers. She
also taught me the
importance of visual language in an interview. I eventually got into
my dream

Challenges of school admission interviews
For a child, having to attend an interview is a very
intimidating experience. In this competitive world, where there are long queues
of candidates wanting to go into the “right” school, this is an effective
method to separate the sheep from the goats, to weed out those candidates who
are not passionate enough or who do not possess the personality traits they are
looking for. For many schools, the admission interview is critical in ensuring
that candidates are the right fit for their institution.
Most people have misconceptions about interviews. Firstly,
some people think it is not possible to prepare for interviews since we cannot
predict what the interviewers are going to ask. Secondly, some people think it
is possible to prepare for interviews by predicting questions, having formulaic
answers, and memorising them word for word. But the problem with this method is
that your answers will sound stilted and such preparation will not help you to
create flexible answers for the endless variants of possible questions.
The good news is, it is possible for one to prepare for the
interviews and strategic preparation for interviews makes a phenomenal
difference to the interview performance on the day itself. In this hands–on workshop,
participants will increase their confidence in “selling themselves” through
mini lectures, roles plays with both peers and trainers.
